What Is Microneedling RF?
Microneedling RF is a non-ablative treatment that uses microneedles to deliver radiofrequency (RF) energy into varying levels of the skin, including the deeper layers where it helps to regenerate tissue and revitalize skin for improved texture, firmness, tightening and lifting.
Microneedling radiofrequency treatments are suitable for any skin type and are an effective treatment option for patients wanting to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, local scars and stretch marks.
Dermetics offers patients Microneedling RF treatments using the Secret™ RF device, uniquely designed to safely deliver RF energy for optimal results with minimal downtime.
How Microneedling RF Works
Before treatment, skin is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied.
Treatment is performed using a handpiece with sterile, single-use tips that deliver fractionated RF energy through microneedles into the skin.
Most patients tolerate treatment well, and additional comfort measures are available for more aggressive treatments.
Microneedling RF is a low-downtime procedure. Patients will experience mild redness and swelling for 12-24 hours and should avoid applying makeup until the next day. Mild peeling and a sandy texture is normal during the first week. Minor bruising may occur and can be covered with makeup.
A series of three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results. Many patients will see improvement after the first or second treatment, with full effect at three months after their last treatment. Maintenance treatments are recommended every six to 12 months, and patients will be prescribed medical-grade skincare for use at home to enhance and maintain their results.
